Episode 15 - Interview Process
THE FINAL THREE CANDIDATES ARE SUBJECTED TO THE DREADED INTERVIEW PROCESS ON NBC'S "THE APPRENTICE"
ONE CANDIDATE GETS FIRED EARLY IN THE EPISODE AND TRUMP SENDS THE FINAL TWO ON THEIR LAST MISSION
The countdown to "The Apprentice" one-hour finale on NBC begins as the final three candidates get grilled by four of the nation's top executives during the dreaded interview round leading to the penultimate firing of the season. Donald Trump issues the final two tasks, which will ensue over the next three episodes beginning May 5 (9-10pm ET) continuing on May 12 (9-10pm ET) and resulting in the ultimate boardroom hiring of the third "Apprentice" on May 19 broadcasting live from NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (9-10pm ET).
The executives featured in the May 5 interview round are:
David A. Brandon, Chairman & CEO Domino's Pizza, Inc
Darlene Daggett, President, U.S. Commerce QVC, Inc.
Howard M. Lorber, Chairman, Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate
Greg Brenneman, Chairman & CEO, Burger King Corp.
The final tasks feature the coordination of "The Best Buy Video Game World Championship" at Webster Hall involving a new video game from EA Sports and running "The NYC 2012 Athlete Challenge" at Chelsea Piers that will promote New York City's bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
Each finalist is assigned three employees to help execute these tasks and both are outraged to discover which "firees" return to join them on the mission.

(Boynton Beach, Fla.) Real Estate Broker -- I abandon fear, think outside the box, approach business creatively and will rise to the top.
(Des Moines, Iowa) Sales Executive -- I'm sharp, diplomatic, and my energetic personality is unparalleled.

Ok I saw Alex in the recap episode holding a huge board, entering into the Chelsea Piers where some athletes were performing there. That means whoever have Alex on her team will be doing "The NYC 2012 Athlete Challenge".

No, I think it's Craig who's going to be out. He just HAS to be the one.
Posted by: Jamison | May 04, 2005 at 09:01 PM
I agree, it has to be Craig. In addition to poor communication and leadership skills he has no corporate experience, which is essential at this point, especially for Craig. Had he have that experience, I think his conduct would have been different: perhaps a bit more professional. If all the pro's and con's are compared, Craig in my opinion is not qualified for this position. The interviewers and DT have to be blind not to see this.
On the other hand, this is a show - who knows what they have in mind....

I saw on Tana's website that she is doing a book signing for her new children's book on May 9th in Iowa????? This does not look good, does it?
I can't believe that Craig would beat her out. He is such a loser, but as someone said, this is a show....

I am open minded and when I saw that Tana and Craig were roomates I attributed it to them having to move to the other side of the suite and then never having to pack to go to the BR after this . But Wooo Hooo--- I saw the preview on the Yahoo web site and I am sorry. Tana is wearing a skimpy Tee shirt and then praying w/ Craig. Her kids should not have to see this. Put some shorts on or where a longer nightgown. You can share a room but still. Now that I am reading this , I feel like I am sounding like a prude.

Which Yahoo website, OMG?

Craig has served his purpose - being the minority who reaches the Final Four so Trump doesn't look like a bigot. Lucky for him he hasn't been in the boardroom in months. He'll get killed in the interview process and he doesn't have the moxie to survive a showdown with either Tana or Kendra if he did have to fight for himself.
Expect Trump to tell Craig what a "great guy" he is and for Carolyn to echo the sentiment as he gets the heave ho.
I wonder if the Domino's CEO is going to ask any of these candidates why they didn't go with a Cheesburger pizza instead of a Meatball pizza - or why they didn't do any market research first?
And I wish somebody would ask the Burger King CEO what was he thinking when he okayed this whole creepy "Wake Up With The King" ad campaign. Surely somebody's going to need therapy after watching that one. It's almost as bad as the gay cucumber commercial Bren came up with for Dove.
A three-week Final Two? Yikes. Imagine how hard the censors are going to have to work editing out the F-bombs between Brian, Kristen and Chris? Who do you trust with the Trump credit card out of this group? If you ask me, they've stacked the deck for Kendra just as they did for Bill and Kelly. Obviously, the drama won't be about who gets chosen so MB has to spice it up with some dysfunctional losers.
Congrats, Kendra.

All I can say is, I was also perplexed about the three-week final two. Is that really necessary?
Posted by: Jamison | May 05, 2005 at 05:00 AM
Don't they throw in a 'retrospective' episode, to show how the finalists got to where they are?
Posted by: Hermie | May 05, 2005 at 07:44 AM
"Imagine how hard the censors are going to have to work editing out the F-bombs between Brian, Kristen and Chris?"
You forgot to add Tana to the list.. What the f**k!

The Yahoo website is:

I was also shocked by the Tana and Craig part. I guess she is wearing just a t-shirt. I think that their respective spouses are going to be thrilled by knowing that they keep sleeping in the same room after the whole suite is almost empty. Tana seems to be a MCLF (a mother Craig....). At least they pray to The Donald all mighthy :-)

I agree. They are just trying to add spark to the finale for May sweeps. They have stacked the odds in Kendra's favor. Which is kind of silly because I don't think she really needs the help( from what I have seen so far). Have to keep NBC happy so it will keep churning out the show- putting $$$ in MB and DT's pockets. I do not blame either of the finalist for being outraged, if what I hear is true about who is on the teams.

Apparently Alex gave an interview and this is some of what he had to say "Alex Thomason won't be this season's The Apprentice, but he knows who should be.
The 29-year-old Seattle prosecutor, who was fired on last week's episode, is throwing his support behind Tana Goertz, the 37-year-old mother and entrepreneur from Iowa.
"I chose Tana as my partner (on the final task) because I thought she was the strongest player and I stand by that decision. Tana is very smart, articulate and a great leader -- I really thought it was going to be her and I in the final two," he says. "
I cannot believe this. He did not support Tana very well in the team and he certainly did not do a lot to try to get their team to win. Any thoughts or to use Kendra's words Is he crazy or is it me?
Posted by: | May 05, 2005 at 12:23 PM
He also goes on to say this -Alex says, despite some clever editing that has made each of the remaining competitors look like idiots, all three are more than qualified to work for Donald Trump.
"I watched The Apprentice in the past and thought, 'Oh, look at that retard,' but that is not the case at all. These are some of the brightest people in the country," he says.
"You are not going to make it to the final six, let alone to the final three, if you are stupid, lazy or incompetent in any way."

Things that make you go hmmmmm- Sounds like he is trying to repair some of his image. Methinks.
Posted by: | May 05, 2005 at 12:47 PM
hey comon on people, do you really think Trump would hire someone with no experience to manage of his businesses. This is a TV show. And Alex is right, editing is for good TV?
Please tell me how a debating lawyer can manage a unit from Trump's company with no corporate experience. that's BS.
The best outcome would have been to see Tara against Kendra. No way will hire Craig and no way he will hire Tana either and Kendra at 26 is not mature enough yet, she's no Carlyn.

At first I was for Kendra vs. Tana, w/ Kendra to take it all.
The problem is that of the three candidates - Kendra and Craig are more innovative. They both pressed on when they were project managers and their teams were alienating them. First, craig w/ the home depot task then, Kendra w/ GM.
For all of their arguments during tasks - do you realize that they manage to do? They win - they don't pull an Alex sitting down and shutting up so his team fails and he can point fingers. They don't succumb to mutiny - they press on.
Kendra has consistently down target market research before she partnered w/ Tana. The minigulf task was Kendra's win for Stephanie as PM, b/c Kendra went and marketed to other businesses w/ coupons for mini-gulf. Tana wasn't marketing to other businesses until she was on Kendra's team. Proof is that the task that Tana moved back to Net Worth w/ Alex, Tana was patting Alex on the knee and saying "we'll talk about marketing on the drive back."
Kendra and Craig will drive one another nuts making sure the other doesn't forget this and even if they loathe one another, there is no uncertainty about what the other thinks the other. The point is they spend time communicating about how they don't communicate well - yet they are communicating - not being silent and content to watch the other fail. Or it seems when either was set up for that both Kendra and Craig persevered. Tana was set up somewhat by Alex when he let her dismiss the whole "we'll talk about marketing later." If Alex had been as agressive as Craig or Kendra to Tana "No! We need to talk about marketing now - we'll have a great product and no one will know about it. No Alex doesn't do that - he concedes to Tana.
I think it will go down to Craig and Kendra b/c of their differences and more so b/c they're creativity and their visions are so different. Creative people that get together are going to but heads - b/c their visions are so different. While I think Tana is exceptional at sales and a good people person, I give it to Craig over Tana because though he is difficult to work with - his instincts on the box were dead on and he did it in the face of aversity. Tana succumbs to the ideas around her and works w/ them. Aside of her Pizza recipe, she's come up w/ a few truly unique ideas. Wearable Technolgoy - she did a logo. The mobile-casting trailer was Angie's idea. I think Tana can take and idea and run w/ it - but I do think that Kendra and Craig have more going for them - b/c they are both so creative - they have to go head to head.

I think this is going to be interesting, because each candidate has something going against him/herself.
Kendra(my personal favorite) has age going against her. She could go down as not having enough "life-experience" for the Trump organization(not going to happen...chick's in real estate...)
Tana has a loss on her record that the other two don't. This could blow up in her face.
Craig hasn't stepped up and done a third task and interviewing may not be his strong suit.
Posted by: Linda | May 05, 2005 at 03:05 PM
linda i agree but tana has more than a loss to deal with...no marketing...sometimes she is creative sometimes she is not(It didnt even enter my brain mr trump)and she has GOT to have her sleep(although i think if her rear was on the line she would have been up...)
Craig: do i even really need to explain...b/c he cant..ha ha
Kendra: age yes but management/interpersonal skills need a touch of like..something..like emotion...i havent really seen her like just have fun...i know i know...it's business but loosen up some...i love ya kendra but really....smile
