Episode 16 - Into the Stretch
The final two candidates put on their respective events. One candidate, who is in charge of the Best Buy Video Game World Championship, tries to soothe the concerns of one of the corporate sponsors. The other finalist, who is in charge of the NYC2012 Athlete Challenge, is responsible for the governor of New York, George Pataki and has trouble locating an American flag.

Yes, the finale is on May 19th and is 1 hour long. More details as they come in...

I am so bored with these candidates and this show. I wouldn't hire any of them to lead anything. Kendra is the only one that has showed any skills but she is being shown as a total pain in the arse. This season lost all credibility to me when the snot nosed punk Chris wasn't fired after week 2. He clearly has ZERO skills other than being a bully yet the show kept him on. I feel like it was just to add flavor versus him being a quality candidate.

They're having trouble finding an American Flag? You've got to be kidding.
Posted by: jillian | April 25, 2005 at 05:43 PM
Kendra is a whiner. Listen to her interviews she even carries a whining tone in her voice. If Kendra is working for Trump and has several people on her team that drive her crazy, like Craig does, what will she do? Whine to Trump?
Tana is able to move past problems and keep the team together. She appears to have a good formula that she consistently applies that works for both as a team player and as a team leader.

The only person who has managed to push Kendra's buttons is Craig... and really, how likely is it that somebody as weird (interpersonally) as Craig will be working at the Trump Organization?

"They're having trouble finding an American Flag? You've got to be kidding."
Well, they ARE in a "blue" state. ;P

"The only person who has managed to push Kendra's buttons is Craig... and really, how likely is it that somebody as weird (interpersonally) as Craig will be working at the Trump Organization?"
VERY likely. She's applying for a management position. The people who would work under may be even less educated or verbally skilled than Craig. Think about it.
Let's not forget the moron with the moustache (one of Trump's finance VPs) from last season's finale who demonstarted less verbal skills than the Village Idiot. I was expecting him to either begin drooling or soiling his boxers. Think Trump might have a few more like him on the payroll?
Yes, once rid of Craig, I will expect Kendra to encounter some folks that will make Criag seem like a picnic.

This is so great because, honestly, these are the four best candidates. I know some don't like some of the candidates but given their roles throughout season 3 these are the best! I've said it before: "Five Billion says Trump has good judgement about people."
I haven't been disappointed yet...except I was a little about Erin getting fired before Stephanie/Angie...but then again Erin bugged me from episode one when she laid on Todd's bed in a short skirt...before the board room. Todd chose NOT to take her into the board room. Nice skirt.
Yeah...good so far! I can't decide (don't have enough of the cut film) who's the weakest of these four. As others have done, I make a case for each one...I keep coming up with Craig but that's only because he appears dinosaurific...then I think about his two boxes and geez I don't know! Then I think Tana is repeatedly fake...but then again those freakin' meatballs looked great! Then I think Alex should have got an interior shot...but then again, each brochure only had ONE interior shot and Alex had to work with Chris/Bren while Kendra got to work on a team of 3 of the final four. Then I think Kendra may very well be a procrastinator (why she didn't get her vocab. words in until 8:30am) and/or someone who needs folks to watch her work (wants her team to stay up and hold the dictionary for her or something)...but then I remember that Kendra pretty much shines as the candidate who thinks through all of the marketing potential.
Alex inspires the candidates and his teammates universally like him. Kendra is doubted but she is only doubted by Craig/Tana (former rivals). Craig is doubted, I think, by all. Tana smiles a lot (and makes great pizza). I know Alex has been in the board room a lot lately but he's still my pick...when Networth could've picked anyone they picked him. When he was still on Magna Kendra named him first in declaring they had the strongest team. I think Alex has the leadership, Kendra has the well-rounded ideas, Craig has the boxes, and Tana has the pizza. I say it's Alex and Tana in the finals.

More obvious candidates for the final are Tana and Kendra who have very different styles and strengths.
Tana
1. gets along well with others - highly relatable, the guy from American eagle when he met her said, "seems like I know you already"
2. Negotiating - this skill cannot be taught, it has to be inborn to some extent - according to Trump's view
3. Adaptable
4. Sales(we)manship
5. Energy - This is big in Trump's view
6. Leader who is liked. - to be fair, Tana also worked with Craig.
> Doubt the ability to do big deals
> Opportunist/May be not loyal?? Car Episode - that is big in Trump's eyes.
Kendra
1. Self Confidence - shown in Car episode
2. Leadership - Better than Tana, her assesment of people and their strenghts is much better.
3. real estate Knowledge - She is miles ahead of any of the candiates now.
4. Work Alone/In a Group - she amply showed she is very good in both.
5. Better suited for Bigger deals. (Kendra & Alex)
6. Tough - did not let Tana walk over her presentation in the Car episode, but at the same time not tough enough to handle craig.
> Dealing with people (esp craig at its worst - control emotions and focus on bottom line, her major loss in these tasks) - poor conflict management.
> A hint of inexperience hovers around Kendra, when compared to Craig or Tana.

Don't matter about inexperience. DT has already chosen Kendra. Congrats, Kendra. Wish you well.
Posted by: Grace | April 28, 2005 at 10:25 PM
You can stop your anxiety attacks. DT all but announced that he has already hired Kendra in tonight's episode. To all of you who thought that Tana was so full of herself. Well, Kendra seemed to be mighty Cocky tonight. If you ask me, Craig was finally laying off her and she was just picking at him.

Come on- anyone who doesn't see the obvious choice is either blind or jealous.
Kendra designs a car brochure that is used in the corporate roll out of the car-( that is a multi million dollar brochure,,folks- that very few top notch ad agencies could have done.)
Tonight she invites all of the artists collectors and friends - that is marketing genius.
I would love to have Kendra head of one of my companies.
She is a visionary and more creative than anyone Trump currently has on his team.
I can see him drooling over the possibily of her marketing skill working for him.
Posted by: sue | April 29, 2005 at 12:27 AM
Except for the fact that the artist practically hand fed this piece of info to Kendra.
Posted by: Grace | April 29, 2005 at 12:33 AM
Tonight justice was finally served, Alex did not deserve another day on the apprentice. I am so glad that Tana pulled out her Trump Card!
Posted by: | April 29, 2005 at 03:12 AM
It was about time. Alex skated by too long.
Tana was the PM and did screw up by wasting time and going to Staten Island for some beads. But Alex thought he could sit back and let her take the blame for the failure.
Ironically, Alex the hot-shot lawyer and lobbyist, got kicked to the curb by Tana when she managed to have her facts straight, and he fumbled when questioned by Trump.
Posted by: Hermie | April 29, 2005 at 07:59 AM
After tonight, Kendra is practically chosen. I thought Tana was also a caditate until this episode. Seems like DT completes the build up in the final rounds. Tana got knocked down quite a bit in this board room.
Also, her inability to work at a higher level came out completely in this task. Her sales experience is not going to take her far, if she does not have a big picture and ability to work at a higher level than street selling.
Tana, will make the final two, but has less chance of winning the it.
Posted by: vg | April 29, 2005 at 11:53 AM
Kendra should win. Inviting Romero Britto's fanbase was a great move, but was Romero avail the day of selling the t-shirts to have them personally autographed and then sold for up to $100 each?
Posted by: Harry | April 29, 2005 at 11:40 PM
To VG, I agree. Kendra is all but chosen. However, I think Alex could have stepped up a lot more. This is the reason that I agreed with DT, he said it seemed like Alex sat back and did not do much. People are blaming Craig for not helping Kendra. The same could be said of Alex. Tana did show her inexperience in this. However, I think Tana can learn. I just got the feeling from the way DT kept knocking her down in the BR, Kendra is going to be the next apprenctice.
Posted by: | April 30, 2005 at 12:06 AM
Infact, I got the impression, that DT had much higher hopes on Tana, the way he asked the questions, on how can you deal with ...., this showed some disappointment. He has tough choice now, between Kendra and Tana. Both might not be the as capable as he thinks, but they both will be who he will have to choose from. The tasks will mean less in the end when it comes to hiring, Amy did win much but got kicked out in the interviews. DT, is very practical when it comes to business, so i think Tana might have an outside chance in that. Strengths and weaknesses of both the candidates, will come out in the interviews and mostly the descision will be made in that round, the last round is just to confirm the findings.

SHAME ON BOOK SMARTS: The Street Smarts are One Better Than the Book Smarts!
No book smart could make to the final two. But, with the final three now consisting of two street smarts in Tana and Craig and one book smart in Kendra Todd, no matter what happens hereafterwards, there will be atleast one book smart in the final 2 that will decide who the Apprentice 3 is going to be.
While it is true that both Tana and Kendra are equal in their abilities, the odds-in-favorite is Tana not because she is necessarily better than Kendra but because Kendra is scuttling her own chances, soiling her own reputation, and digging her own grave by her on-going, flippant, idiotic, mouse fight (in her own words, dog fight) with Craig Williams, in the most flimsy way imaginable. If Kendra gives an impression or if Criag give an impression that they just can not get along and act professionally with a colleague, it will become difficult for Donald Trump to take a childish candidate as the Apprentice 3 to work in his organization.
It is true that Kendra Todd has a great gift for marketing wizardry, has always excelled in all the tasks that she has been involved with, except one where she just did not contribute anything to the task where Craig Willaims worked single handedly to pull off a great victory as the project manager for his team. Later, Craig and Tana teamed up with each other to the consternation of Kendra Tood and in a way, Tana Goertz spoiled her own image when she was seen (along with Craig) in a task that was spearheaded by Kendra Todd by her seeming and inexplicable unwillingness to help Kendra in any meaningful way. Ironically, just as Craig had done earlier, Kendra also proved that she, on her own, can do the whole team's work and come out with a sizzling product that dazzled the client, decimated the Net Worth team, and made Chris Shelton cry like a fornlorn, bewildered, and self-pitying baby (or like a crying woman) and go home after losing the task to Kendra and get fired by Donald Trump after running out of his luck of seven defeats, a rare accomplishment for any candidate in the three apprentice series so far.
Because, Kendra Todd and Craig Williams are fighting like cats and dogs with each other in the most pathetic, flippant, and gross manner imaginable, they may, by default, be laying the ground for the coronation of Tana Goertz, the book smart, as the new Apprentice 3, in the year 2005.
If Tana Goertz does end up the new apprentice 3, it will not only because of her stellar successes and one major blemish in being seen uncoperative and unhelpful to Kendra Todd in of the tasks, but also becasue of the unsolicited help that both Kendra Todd and Craig Williams are providing to her in the form of scuttling their own chances by their internecine, obscence, childish, and flippant battles with each other.
But, it is all not over for Kendra Todd yet. She has notched up dazzling successes so far and has proved her marketing wizardry time and time in many of the tasks so far. In fact, despite her cat and dog fights with Craig Willaims, there is also a general perception that she has forced into that stupid fight due to the total negative attitude of Craig Williams towards her. If Kendra wins despite her cat and dog fights with Craig Willaims, it could be because Craig Williams has given the perception that he is the instigator, the real perpetrator, and the bully, whereas Kendra has been forced to join the fight with him, because she can not allow people to presume that she could be bullied easily by another candidate very easily. May she had to join fight with him becasue she also needs to maintain her feelings of self worth and protect her self respect.

Shame on Book Smarts...
I'm stunned that you still think that Kendra won't be The Apprentice. Haven't they made it bloody obvious enough for you?
Posted by: JB | April 30, 2005 at 01:28 PM
When I read "shame on book smart" posting It reminded me of Craig poor communication skills, As if Craig himself wrote that posting...Mumble.. Mumble...
Posted by: Gman | April 30, 2005 at 04:08 PM
I think Tana is going to be the next Apprentice. Craig is out on the next show. I like Kendra's marketing ability but she is way too childish. I'll be surprised if she wins. I liked Alex up until he made his negative comments about Tana then wrote him off, was glad to see him fired over a street smart woman, classic!
Posted by: Mike | April 30, 2005 at 05:45 PM
Mumble or Fumble! Either way, it is time for Kendra and Craig to patch up their differences and give a fight to Tana in the final two chances that they are left with to become the Apprentice 3. If they do not wake up quickly, it will all be over for them pretty soon!
