Tara Fired for Not Focusing On The Game.
Tara was fired because while she knew Harlem, she didn't know Gran Turismo 4.
From her boardroom strategy this was evident, to even Tara, as she started everything off by pointing to Audrey & John for not telling her more about Gran Turismo 4 and that there was more than one racing environment.
However, the attempt to hold Audrey & John responsible was weak. As project manager responsible for advertising for the product she have had knowledge of the product and it's features, or delegated the visual concept design to someone who did. Tara should have at least attempted to play the game. Or worst case, she could have looked at a set of screen shots for an understanding of the visual style of the product.
In addition to this, by taking such a strong ownership position of the concept and task she really had no one else to bring to the table as responsible. Tara had repeatedly positioned this idea as her's and since the implementation went smoothly, it all came down to concept.
Tara focused more on making the advertisment speak to the community than on making the ad speak about the product she was advertising. Tara didn't try to know her product and she got fired.

I really liked the way Craig stepped up. This was the first time you really got to hear from him. I wasn't sure where he was going with the "husband" comment to Audrey, but Craig looks like he just may follow in Kwame's shoes and make it far in the game.

When Tara was explaining the graffiti to the Playstation reps she used the word “I” about 20 times. When she was called into the boardroom, she insisted that the concept was not hers alone and that the entire team was responsible. Shame on Tara for trying to take all of the credit but none of the blame.

Tara took a real low road when she blamed others for her fatal mistakes.
Not only did she not take into consideration her co-workers and the product itself, but even the community was totally misrepresented. One of the comments from the focus group hit it right on the head when he said that it looked like someone's conception of Harlem and not what Harlem was all about.

So any idea what the teaser was for next week... someone "addicted" to something. Any insight?

I thought Craig was being honest about Tara being the only person Trump could have fired for the project because Tara *made* the project all about herself.
I didn't understand all the stuff about Audrey or why the producers left it in until you realize Audrey has the meltdown next week. I know this will come across as a little sexist but a newlywed wife of two months who is put into the pressure cooker of "The Apprentice" is going to miss her husband more than concentrate on her work. Craig, in a really subtle way, is explaining why Audrey is getting bitchy and will soon come unglued. Craig, as a married father of four, understands this about Audrey and that's why he wasn't taking it personally. He was trying to clue Trump in about this.
Plus, there's obviously a lot of editing that goes on in this show. What they show you is what's relevant for telling the story, not necessarily what is really going on between the candidates.
The rabbit trail about "newlywed" Audrey foreshadows next week's meltdown and her likely firing/quitting. That's too bad because Audrey is one of the most quotable ("your ass doesn't know the difference") people on the show.

I missed the very last part of the show, had to leave when Tara got fired. Audrey does look a bit frazzled, her hair was obviously dirty, and she looked stressed. I didn't realilze there was a melt-down in store for her during next week's show. I thought her comments about Craig and his children (I'm not one of his kids") was a little personal, but then, of course, Craig fires back with worse. I really thought Craig's comments were on the par of gossip about Audrey's personal affairs. If I were Trump, instead of having fun with it by asking her about it (and she handled it rather well) I would have sunk Craig's ship with a few questions to him ("Don't you think revealing private issues about Audrey's marriage in the boardroom to defend yourself is a little low? Why are you bringing up Audrey's husband and their problems?) As I said before, I don't know what will cause Audrey's meltdown next week, but I'm sure she is feeling guilty for having betrayed the confidences of her marriage to so unworthy a confidante.

this episode was a bit odd... the first five episodes they don't even show tara that much, and then out of nowhere they fire her!

Has anyone come to the conclusion that black people just do not win or go very far in reality shows ?
Out of all the blacks on reality shows, I have the most respect for Kwame Jackson, he didnt play on the "affirmative action" card to get anywhere in life or use race as an issue, he worked hard.......whereas you look at Omarosa, Tara, Stacey and Verna, they are all portrayed as nutcases, which might or might not be true. They also come across as the "hard done by" generation, come on, slavery was hundreds of years ago, times have changed, move on, take a leaf out of Kwame's book and move on !!!

The addiction issue is related to Bren and his cigarette smoking which was demonstrated in the grafitti episode, he may not be able to cope without his nicotine fix

actually, anonymous. black people DO win reality shows... American Idol for example, TWO CONSECUTIVE BLACK WINNERS!

I am not a racist, but I am VERY HAPPY that the selfish hoe got her black ass fired!
This is a urban version she reminded me of omarosa.
"I know that Audrey is full of it. I mean she saids to me, I know that there are other scenes in this game. Hellllllllllllo! Why didn't you say anything. (which Audrey did.) She had no problems telling me alllllllll the things all the problems that she had with Craig's attitude. BUT YET, YOU GIVE ME ONE PIECE OF INFORMATION (starting to swing like a hoe), THAT WOULD HAVE ALTERED THE WHOLE COURSE OF HOW THE AD WOULD HAVE BE DONE."
lying hoe.
enough said.

Hello people of The Apprentice Reality Television Series. Just saying what up because I may be intoxicated off of cannibas sativa like how some of you may be, just chillin or kickin it.

Way to go Craig. . . I didn't take it that Audrey had confided in him and that he turned on her . . . I think he was reading between the lines of what he sees and forwarning Trump. I liked Audrey in the beginning, but I am tired of listening to her whine and complain ALL THE TIME!!!
Tara deserved what she got . . white or black. . . she was all about promoting herself when she THOUGHT it was a wonderful concept that she HERSELF came up with. Audrey tried to tell her that she had played the game, but she had already created her concept and the whole harlem thing. And she was not concerned with what was a part of the game . . . if she was, the game was right there for her to play herself!!! Did she look at it at all, I tend to think not. Even the MAGNA team didn't have a clue, but they were smart enough to ask for some professional help from the people who would be looking at it and WHAT would make them want to purchase the game. You are speaking to an audience, why not ask them?? She had her concept before she ever even spoke to the Sony people. . . Trump said it best . . . she missed the point!

Being a big fan of the Gran Turismo series, I feel offended by her lack of research in the very product she was trying to promote. All I saw Tara contribute was bs about cars blasting into a new urban renaissance. She screwed up by being selfish, thinking that she could identify with the demographic, when she has nothing in common with them except for skin color. When she said "I AM the demographic" to the Sony executives, I knew that the only thing she heard Trump say was "Harlem."

I don't like Craig and Audrey. They both should go.
I miss Carolyn

Please bring Carolyn back.
She appears to me to be the only truly sane, real person in this entire series.

Yes, slavery was hundreds of years ago. But just 40 years ago there was government sactioned oppression in the forms of lynchings, murders, beatings, firehoses, police dogs, etc. Then the same gov't "ends" segregation and puts some civil rights laws into place and that makes it all better??? All racism just "magically" disappears and all discrimination goes away? And what about the huge advantage that was gained (by whites) during all of the gov't sanctioned oppression? Did the whites have to give any of that up? Were the blacks paid for their pain and suffering? NO! Nothing. Not the 40 acres and a mule that was promised to the "freed" slaves. And not a nickel to those that suffered in the 60's, prior, or as a result of.
Sooo...we do not have to go way back to slavery...we can just go back 40 years or so.
Racism is still alive and kicking to this day and while the overt racism is now (somewhat) illegal, black folks still suffer the effects of things like our beloved gov't (CIA) putting drugs and guns into the black neighborhoods not too long ago (look it up if you think I'm lying), etc. etc. etc.
Because of the things mentioned above, many blacks have been denied a decent start in life, have lost property, inheritance, family, etc. No, that is not an excuse for committing heinous-type crimes...but let's not act like everything has been made up for because it hasn't.
I cringe every time I hear someone refer to slavery and how long ago it was. What about the 60's? And what about today? Black folks are discriminated against every single day in America. Especially young black males...they all get lumped into the same group--the good ones get grouped right along with the misfits. Why? Because to the ignorants among us they all look alike, therefore they must all be treated alike.
Jews received financial payment due to the Holocaust and property that was stolen as a result. American Indians/Native Americans have been paid and maintain casinos (which are not required to pay taxes on their profits), land for their communities and the such, but what have blacks received? NADA! WHY?? Because it would hurt (racist) folks to acknowledge the atrocities to the point of admitting that it's worth repaying the debt that has unleveled the playing field. But you'll never admit it. Of course not!

Yeah! I hate how everyone just pretends that racism no longer exists. It has become taboo to acknowledge it to say the least.

JT, you talk crap, the problem with today's black youth (apart from Kwame Jackson) is that they do not know what hard work is, they expect everything to be handed to them on a plate, is it any wonder why the black folk cant cope on reality shows like the apprentice ? Omarosa, Stacey, Verna and Tara.
Kwame, put all that aside, he didnt have a chip on his shoulder like all the blacks of today, he worked hard, perhaps the youth of today (not just black) should take a leaf out of his book
Posted by: Bridget | March 01, 2005 at 11:57 AM
yea, why is she dating matt dillon, when in her interview or whatever she said she was singele? Do you really love him or is it just a short thing? He was my first favorite actor and always will be. You took that from me tara.

why the racist talk? Tara blew it and was tossed. Simple. Don is an equal opportunity firer

Way to generalize Bridget! So let me get this right...ALL black youth (with the exception of Kwame Jackson) fit your lame description? That's what perpetuates racism--ignorant people such as yourself that put all blacks (except one or two) in the same category. Your post proved just what I stated in my previous posting--the majority of us get lumped together due to ignorant folks like yourself.

I didn't come here and claim that Tara was mistreated "because she was black." In fact, I don't think she was mistreated at all. I was merely replying to the ignorant posting by Bridget.
Tara basically got what she deserved. Like most, I was turned of by her "I, I, I," boasts and lame board room actions.
I agree that the Don is an equal opportunity firer.

Previous post by yours truly. Here's a prediction while we're on the race thing: season 5's Apprentice will be a black person.
Bridget, I'm done responding to you. I know there's no way to win an argument with a fool.
