A hit to the head, a hit to the heart, and a hit to the ego.

Project Mgrs: KatrinaVersacorp, Troy - Protégé
These choices, while solid, certainly surprised me. Katrina was an obvious choice since she is the real estate expert. However, since each team had a member who hadn’t led, it seemed obvious that they would be on deck whether they were qualified or not. But good call on the “not”, since Heidi had the family issue to deal with and Tammy, well… Tammy is Tammy.

Episode 7 - Rules of the Game

This week's Rules

A couple of notes of interest

  • While Trump said they had to "negotiate" for which apartment each team got - it's not in the publicized rules. Otherwise that coin toss solution would have been questionable.
  • Each team had $2000 for renovation AND $2000 for furnishings - that would explain Bill's comment about ammoritizing the cost of the extras.
  • They were required to have qualitifed tenants sign a one-year lease. Which is why both teams were worried about the credit checks.
  • There is also a rule stating that "teams can promote an Open House..." and another stating "teams are responsible for generating interest in the apartment." I wonder if there was a secondary set of rules that limited what kind of efforts they could use for promotion - otherwise why would they need an explicit comment on an Open House?

I'd love to see the full set of rules for some of these challenges!

    Project Management decision

Okay - I was wrong... based on this clip in the New York Post's TV Week the Project Managers are Katrina and Troy.

Project managers ">Katrina and Troy fight over real estate as team Protege and Versacorp accept the next challenge. They must renovate apartments in a downmarket Brooklyn neighborhood and then rent them for the highest possible price.

    So the question is...

Really Real, Real Estate - Really!

This episode could also be called
"Where's Jason When We Need Him" The challenge is to select, renovate and rent a New York City apartment. The Official Preview makes it pretty clear these apartments need some serious work.

Who's up for Project Manager this time - well the only one's who haven't taken the role yet seem like the obvious choices. For Versacorp that means Tammy - who has never been to the boardroom. For Protégé that means Heidi - who has been in the boardroom for the last 2 sessions.

In addition, we've got one team with only 4 people doing a very physically intensive challenge competing against a team of 6 - most of whom (5/6) have never been in the final boardroom. It's going to be very interesting to watch how that pans out.

That aside, this episode looks significantly more focused on people than on projects... but hey, that's business.

    So the questions are...
